Get equipped to help others find + maintain freedom
Part 4 equips you with more tools + empowers you to help others find freedom + walk in healing.
Life is hard. That's a given.
In fact, Jesus tells us it "rains on the righteous and unrighteous" (Matthew 5:45).
Take enough laps around the sun, and you'll find yourself hurt-- because tough seasons come.
However, if the traumatic season continues-- or if the person faces trauma in such a way that it "sticks"-- it can actually rewire the brain.
At the end of Course 3 we learned of the importance of healthy thinking patterns and mind renewal. Sometimes, it's more difficult, because the trial has been tougher.
(See Lessons 1, 2, 3, 4, and 12)
Many times, the trauma begins early. Or it starts at home.
We're created to explore the world around us and to grow-- and that begins even from before the time we're born.
When we face healthy situations, we thrive. When we face unhealthy scenarios, we might encounter trauma.
We learn about sexual identity, male and female relationships, and more from our earliest days. The home should be safe-- and should provide us with a launchpad to move into the world.
(See Lessons 5 and 6, as well as 11)
Men and women were both created in God's image. It takes both to get a greater picture of what God is like.
But when we don't understand who God is, and when we receive conflicting messages from the culture around us (as well as from what we see modeled from a young age), gender confusion often results.
Rather than taking our cues from the world around us, we want to step back and see what God says about Biblical masculinity and Biblical femininity.
(See Lesson 7, 8, 9, 10)
In the final course of the 4-part framework, we clarify that our call is to holiness, not merely leaving the past hurts and habits and hangups.
In other words, freedom and healing is meant to be shared with others.
Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He promises to complete the good work He began in us-- and in everyone we encounter (Philippians 1:6).
He planned great works-- from before time began-- for us to walk in. And, the same grace that saves us also empowers us to become His change agents in this world, loving the people He gave His life for (see Ephesians 2:8-10).
