  • kelly johnson (President) 

    National Account Sales Executive within the Financial Services industry working for a Fortune 500 Company. His wife Bonnie is a successful Real Estate Professional with ReMax and they have lived in Birmingham for 20+ years. They have two grown children and two adorable granddaughters who live in Charlotte, NC. They attend Church of the Highlands Greystone Campus and are both active in small groups/ Bible Studies. Kelly also volunteers at Brother Bryan Mission downtown Birmingham and enjoys fishing, hunting and golf and making new friends. 


  • selina simpson (Vice President)

    Selina has spent the last 30 years in the insurance business where she specializes in insurance, risk management, and consulting for universities, owners, developers and managers of on and off campus student housing projects. She is a senior vice president for PentaRisk Associates of Georgia and has recently opened a Birmingham office to exclusively serve student housing clients. She and her husband Alan have two grown sons and a granddaughter. They live in Trussville and attend the First Baptist Church of Trussville.  

  • kathy houston (Secretary/treasurer)

    "Born in Dothan, Alabama, but living most of her adult life in Birmingham, Kathy is married to Philip with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. With a degree in accounting from Auburn University, she has worked for Till, Eddlemam, & Hester as a CPA, Sunnyland Refining Company as Vice President of Operations, Sonat Marketing Company as Director of Financial Management, and Burch Corporation as Vice President of Operations. She has also been an Independent Consultant at various times and is currently working with Village Dermatology and Village Park Builders developing operational and financial reporting systems. Kathy has served as President and Treasurer of Childcare Resources and has been actively involved at M-Power Ministries for many years. In addition to her career and community involvement, she is active at Church of the Highlands and enjoys cooking for and being with family and friends."

  • charlie conaway

    Self-employed Contractor/IFM Prayer Minister/Transformation Ministries Student. Life-long resident of Birmingham, AL. Married Angela Smith Conaway in May 2017. Previously married (for 37 years) to Susan Black Conaway (deceased 2013). Father to Mackenzie (Free), Martin and Mary Brennan. Grandfather to four granddaughters Jolie, Charlie, Rylie, Finley(Free). Attended Mt. Brook High School (Class of 1971). 1984 - Graduated from Samford University with a Bachelors of General Studies. 1976-1995 - owned and operated several construction related companies in and around Birmingham, Alabama. 1995-2005 - General Manager of Barron Fan Technology, Inc. 2005-Present - self-employed contractor/craftsman/woodworker. 2015-2016 - Transformation School of Ministry receiving certification as a Restoring the Foundations IFM Prayer Minister. Member of the Council Ring for Alabama CFO (Camp Fartherest Out). Active member and small group participant/leader with Church of the Highlands.

    Exec VP of Brice Building Company (retired) . Served over 38 years of construction industry experience. Currently, he is an independent consultant with Bayer Properties. Serves on the Board of Safe Harbor and is a member of the Birmingham Country Club and the Monday Morning Quarterback Club. Formerly, he was on the Junior Board of Young Professionals, mentoring students at Birmingham Southern College. He and his wife Susan attend Church of the Highlands.

  • jeff drummonds

    Altec National Service Group Manager. Served in the U.S.M.C. (1978-1982). Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Certificate in Leadership Ministry from Highlands College. Certified Leadership Trainer, Coach and Speaker, the John Maxwell Team. Two daughters, Kristen Drummonds and Emily Zelko who is married to Tom Zelko. Two Grandchildren, Thomas and Zoey. Jeff's entire family are members of Church of the Highlands.

    Sr VP Publisher of Southern Living Magazine (retired). Served as publisher of Progressive Farmer Magazine. Currently serving on boards for: Southeastern Tourism Society past Chairman; Member Emeritus, Alabama Sports Foundation; served on the board for the Detroit Advertising Association. He and his wife Georgia are members of First Christian Church Valleydale.

  • georgia flora

    Former owner / stylist of 3 salons and proprietor of The Ritz restaurant downtown. She also produced an evening radio talkshow for her late husband while residing in Pennsylvania. Of most interest to her now is finding minisitry work to enjoy with her husband, Bud Flora, in all its many forms and locations. Georgia’s church involvement has included being Education chair, 3 time VBS director, choir soloist, deacon, worship committee and mission council member and , most recently, Chair of Elders.

  • michael golden

    Timber buyer and owner of Wol GIS, LLC . While working as a timber buyer for Wolf Creek Timber, Inc., Michael created WolfGIS, a smart-phone app capable of finding property lines, corners and identifying land-owners while out in the field. He served as a board member for four years for the Pell City Youth Football Association. He and his wife Laura have been married for eleven years and have two sons: Cade 10 and Tanner 8. They attend Eden Westside Baptist Church in Pell City.

  • hunter jackson

    President/Owner of HC Jackson Company . Custom home builder that has been in the building business for 21 years. University of Alabama graduate, he is married to wife Lydia and has one son Hunter. Hunter and Lydia are members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

  • jim rayfield

    Jim has lived in the Birmingham area his entire life, including Midfield, Hueytown and Indian Valley. He attended the University of Alabama and currently holds an Electrical Contractor and Master Electrician License. He has worked in the residential, industrial, and commercial electrical fields for several years and in the municipal water/waste water industry as an electrical engineer for 20 years. He is currently employed at EMC in Trussville. Jim enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren Paul, Katherine and James, and eating bar-b-que. He lives in Alabaster with his wife, Rebecca, and his daughter, Michaela, lives close by in Montevallo. He attends the Alabaster campus of Church of the Highlands where he and Rebecca have served 4+ years on the Growth Track team.
